Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By using Cloudscribe ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of service
Cloudscribe is an audio recording and transcription tool that saves transcripts as Markdown files to your Google Drive. The Service is provided by Steve Faries, trading as Folio Tools.
3. Account and authentication
Access to Cloudscribe requires a Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorised access to your account.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Cloudscribe to:
- Record conversations without the knowledge and consent of all parties where required by law
- Record, store, or transcribe content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes third-party rights
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service in ways that exceed normal use
- Circumvent fair use limits or subscription restrictions
5. Transcription accuracy
Transcripts are generated by Google's Gemini AI. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any transcript. You should review transcripts before relying on them for any important purpose.
6. Fair use
Free accounts are limited to 30 minutes of transcription per month. Pro accounts are subject to a 600-minute fair use threshold per month. Accounts that systematically exceed these limits or abuse the Service may be suspended.
7. Subscriptions and billing
Cloudscribe Pro is billed monthly at £2.99/month. Subscriptions are managed via Stripe and renew automatically. You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months.
FolioMD Pro features are included whilst your Cloudscribe Pro subscription is active. These features lapse if your subscription ends.
8. Your data
Your recordings and transcripts are stored in your own Google Drive. We do not claim ownership of your content. See our Privacy Policy for full details of how we handle your data.
9. Service availability
We aim to keep Cloudscribe available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice where possible.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cloudscribe and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data or recordings.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
